Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Synapse ("the app"), published by ROI Technologies LLC ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Synapse, you agree to these Terms.

The app

Synapse is a spaced-repetition study app for the MCAT. You may import Anki .apkg decks that you own; you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you import. Synapse is a study aid and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Anki or the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). It does not guarantee any exam outcome.

Free version and Premium

Synapse is free to download and use, with limits: up to 5 card reviews per day and up to 100 cards stored. Synapse Premium removes these limits and unlocks unlimited daily reviews and unlimited cards. Premium is available as:

Annual subscription — $79.99 / year (USD), including a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
Lifetime unlock — $99.99 (USD) one-time purchase.

Prices are set in your local currency by the App Store and may vary by region and over time.

Billing, renewal & cancellation

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
The annual subscription auto-renews at $79.99/year unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
If you start the free trial, any unused portion is forfeited if you purchase a subscription before it ends.
Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device after purchase.
The lifetime unlock is a one-time, non-recurring purchase tied to your Apple Account; it can be restored on your devices via "Restore Purchases".

Refunds

Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. We cannot issue refunds directly; request them through Apple's "Report a Problem".

License

Your use of Synapse is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), which applies in addition to these Terms. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control.

Disclaimer & liability

Synapse is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ROI Technologies LLC is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Your study data lives on your device and in your iCloud; keeping your devices and Apple Account secure is your responsibility.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
